Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday. I'm a whole year old today. Mommy and Daddy say it went by fast, but I don't think so. It's taken my whole life just to get here!

We didn't do much today. I had lunch with Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Christy. But, the weekend before last, I had a big Wolfpack party for my birthday. Lots and lots of people came to see me. We all ate together, and I got to open presents. I got lots of neat toys and cool clothes. I even got a card that sings! I love to open it up and dance to the music (Dad: over and over and over again). The best part though was when I got my own cake. There was a candle, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Then I tasted it, and it was GOOD, so I started stuffing it into my mouth. After a while I got full though, so I decided to just smash the rest of the cake into pieces (Dad: and fling them all over the dining room). I had so much fun at my birthday party. It was so good to see everybody.

Right before the party we went to Nana C and Papaw's house for my first ever Thanksgiving. I really like Thanksgiving. There was so much good food to eat. I got macaroni and cheese, cranberry salad, bread, and pineapples. I also got to see my aunts and uncles and cousins. I also got to see my Mamaw, and she is very sick. I like seeing the birds in the cage at her nursing home, but it made sad to see her feel so bad. Please say a prayer for her.

Right now, we are all getting ready for Christmas. You won't believe this, but there is a tree in our house. Not only that, but it has lights and shiny balls on it. It is the coolest thing. I'm a very good boy though and I don't mess with it. There are presents underneath it too. I can't wait to open them!

I'm getting very excited about Christmas. I'll be sure to tell you all about it!

Rough times

I wish I could tell you things have been good here, but we've had a rough couple of weeks. My first ever ear infection turned into a month-long one. I went back to see Dr. Nechyba a couple of weeks ago and he gave me another antibiotic that seemed like it was working. About a week after I stopped taking my medicine, my ear started hurting again and I was fussy, especially at night. Mommy took me back to the doctor and I got to see the very nice Physician's Assistant, Jennifer. She told me my ear still looked bad and put me on a very strong medicine. I had to go back on Monday to make sure the medicine was working and it wasn't, so I had to have SHOTS. I was brave and I tried not to cry, but they hurt so much. I had to have one every day for three days. The good news is my ear infection is much better now and I'm feeling like my old self.

Last Tuesday I also took a little tumble. I didn't know I could fit through the banister upstairs and I fell about four feet to the step below. I skinned my head and it scared me alot, but thank goodness I didn't get hurt. Mommy and Daddy called Dr. Nechyba and he told them to wake me up after I'd been asleep for a couple hours. Now I've always liked that Dr. Nechyba, but that made me mad. I finally fell back asleep about an hour later. The next morning I was going to get my shot anyway, so I got to see Jennifer again at the doctor's office. She checked me out and said I was okay.

Also my Mamaw Beulah has been very sick in the hospital. She started feeling a little better, but she's not doing good at all right now. Mommy, Daddy and I love her so much and we just want to be with her right now. Please say prayers for her and for my family.

We are headed to Asheville tomorrow for Thanksgiving. We will be coming back on Friday so we can get ready for my birthday party on Sunday. Mommy and Daddy can't believe I'm already a year old!

Evan walks

This is Evan's mom...I wanted to post this video of him walking for everyone to see. He does great until he faceplants at the end of his trip.

Sorry

I've been doing a very bad job keeping you guys up to date on what's going on with me. It's been a whole month since I last posted!!

Since then, I've gone to another Wolfpack football game (they lost this time though) and took a road trip to Georgia for a family reunion and wedding. Guess what? My mommy was sick and my Aunt Christy had been in the hospital, so Daddy took me all by himself. I loved getting to see my Grandmama and all of my aunts, uncles and cousins. I went to my cousin, Lauryn's wedding. It was the first time I had ever seen two people get married. She sure looked beautiful and I was glad I got to meet Molly Evan.

The next weekend, I visited Asheville for my Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark's baby showers. I got to see lots of my family and friends there and boy did I get alot of kisses. On Sunday I was dedicated at the church where my mommy grew up. My Gramma and Grampa came up from Mooresville, my Mamaw Helen, Aunt Terry, Aunt Brenda and Caleb came from Haywood County and my Aunt Sharon, Uncle Jeff, Sean and Jenna made it too. I was very excited to see my Uncle Mark's mom and dad there. They are very special to me.

When I got home I didn't feel good and I was running a fever, so Mommy and Daddy took me to see Dr. Nechyba. He said I had an ear infection and gave me some yummy tasting medicine. We went back a few days later to make sure the medicine was working and it was, but very slowly. I still felt bad the next week and I was running a fever again, so I changed to a different medicine. It was yummy too and I feel much better.

Mommy had to take Aunt Christy to the doctor on Wednesday this past week, so I got to stay with my Nana B and Granddaddy. Aunt Christy has been very sick. She's passed out a couple of times and been in and out of the emergency room. She hasn't been able to go to work (which I love, but I don't think she does) because she's light headed and dizzy. She's had alot of doctors visits lately and she is tired of not feeling good. Please say prayers that she feels better and that my baby cousin continues to be okay. Also pray for Mark because sometimes my Aunt Christy cries alot. Mommy says that has to do with her having a baby in her tummy, but I say I've never seen a grown up cry more than me!

Lastly, I got to go trick-or-treating for the first time last week. I dressed up as a monkey and went knocking on my neighbors' doors and they gave me candy. My Nana C, Nana B, Granddaddy, Uncle Mark and Aunt Christy came over to watch me get dressed and to have dinner with us. On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark went to Virginia to see Carol and Louis get married. I stayed with my Nana C while they were gone and had a great time. When they got back on Sunday I surprised them by walking all by myself that afternoon. I can take six, seven or sometimes more steps before I get tired and have to sit down. I'm such a big boy!!

I'll try to do better about posting this month! Before I go, I'll say Happy Birthday to my friend, Holden, who turned 5 today and Happy Anniversary to my Mommy and Daddy. They were married 8 years ago today!!!

Reunited with an Old Friend

This is a picture of me with my old friend the vacuum. Mommy and Daddy used to run it so I would stop crying. Now I just like to play with the power cord.

I keep getting bigger all of the time. Last weekend, I took three steps all by myself! Ok, I held Daddy's finger for the last one, but the first two were all by myself. I haven't done it too much since then though. The first time I did it, Mommy and Daddy yelled so loud they scared me, so I'm not going to do it again until I think they can handle it.

Last Wednesday I got to do something very fun. Aunt Becky, Uncle Dan and Elizabeth met Mommy, Daddy and me for a trip to the farm. We got to ride on a train, feed some goats (I really wanted to get in that fence, but Daddy wouldn't let me), and go on a hay ride. We also got to pick out pumpkins to take home with us. Afterwards we all went to lunch. I can't wait until I'm big like Elizabeth. She got to drink chocolate milk and eat chicken tenders. I had to stick with bites of cheese and carrots.

On Friday, Uncle Mark's mom and dad were in town so we went to dinner. I was a good boy and loved eating bread and bites of my mommy's pasta. Mommy says I'm going to love carbs as much as she does. Saturday was very busy. We went to the NC State game to see the Wolfpack play Boston College. One time, I got hot and the noise was too much, so Mommy took me downstairs to feed me lunch. I finally calmed down and was happy again when Mommy took me to the part of the stadium where all the sorority girls sit (Mom's note-this is no lie. He quit crying immediately when all the girls started walking by). The Pack played a good game, but they lost by one touchdown.

Today we've just hung out at home. Mommy and Daddy took turns painting the bathroom downstairs while the other one played with me. I can't wait to see it when it's done. I hope the new toilet flusher is as fun to use as the old one.

I'll write again when I get back from Georgia this weekend. I can't wait to see Lauryn get married and to hang out with all of my family down there.

Big Boy PJs!

I'm getting to be such a big boy. First, my mommy got me some new pajamas -- they have separate bottoms and tops, and they don't have feet! Also, I have four teeth now -- well, okay, three and a half, but that fourth one is almost all the way in. I also learned how to wave. I do it whenever someone tells me hello or goodbye. Or really any time I think someone might need waving at. But here's the best part -- I can feed myself now! Mommy and Daddy will put food on my tray and I get to pick it up all by myself and eat it.

I've started going to Kindermusik again. We sing songs, play with instruments, and dance. Today we got ride around the room in laundry baskets. I shared my basket with my friend Peyton. We had fun. I kept playing with her leg. Mommy though that was really funny, but I'm not sure why.

This weekend I'm staying with Nana B and Grandaddy while Mommy and Daddy go to a football game. I'm looking forward to it because I haven't seen them in a while. My grandaddy sounds so much better now when I talk to him on the phone. Daddy says he's almost back to his old self. I can't wait to give him and Nana a big hug (and to show them how to wave!).

One bad thing did happen this week -- I got my first ever black eye. I was trying to climb up on my toy piano and slipped and hit my eye. It swelled up and turned blue. Mommy was very upset, but Daddy told me it looked like I was wearing eye shadow! I'm sure it will get better soon.

My First Visit to Carter Finley

I've done so many things the last two weeks: stayed with my Nana and Papaw while Mommy and Daddy went out of town for a day, gone to eat lunch with friends, started back at Kindermusik, gone to visit my daddy's new office, and saw my first Tropical Storm move through our city. BUT on Saturday, I got to go to a real live football game to see the Wolfpack play. At first, I was having fun with everyone in the stands, but then I got a little hot with the sun directly in my face. I cried and Mommy took me downstairs to sit in the shade. She said it was okay, and that the Wolfpack were playing crummy anyway. Later, Daddy came to get me and Mommy went back upstairs. When the sun went down, we all went back up to watch the game. It was so fun to see all the people and to hear the band. I loved watching the game and liked the three little girls sitting behind us! I got to meet my Mommy and Daddy's friends, Brian and Leigh Kiser and their little girl, Riley. I wasn't ready to go yet, but Mommy and Daddy said we had to leave during the 3rd quarter so I could go home and get to bed. I was so excited about my first game and Mommy and Daddy were excited they FINALLY got to see the Wolfpack score. They even won the game!! Yay!

What a week!

This past week has been very busy in our house. After we went to the waterpark on Monday, Daddy was off again on Tuesday. We ran errands and took a nap together and I loved it. That night Mommy had a meeting, so it was just me and Daddy for the evening. We went to Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark's house for dinner, and I even said my first word, "Elmo," while we were reading books together before bed.

On Wednesday Daddy started his new job. Yay, Daddy! He seems to like it and likes being in a smaller office. Also on Wednesday, my Aunt Kennette, Hannah and Holden came over to watch me so Mommy could go to a funeral. Mommy was very sad all day and kept kissing and hugging on me. She said it is the second time in her life she's had to attend a funeral for a baby and she hopes she never has to do it again.

For lunch on Thursday, Mommy and I went and picked up Uncle Mark and went to Salsa Fresh. I didn't get any chips and salsa, but Mommy and Uncle Mark sure looked like they were enjoying them. That afternoon Daddy came home early and worked from home to help cheer Mommy up since she had been so sad. It worked!! On Friday, Mommy and I met Daddy, Volpe and Nicolle for lunch at Rudinos, and afterwards Daddy came home to work for the rest of the afternoon. I told you we like his new job!!!
Saturday was very fun. We went to have our family portrait made in the morning and I got to sit in a wagon. Afterwards, Mommy went to a baby shower with Aunt Christy and I stayed home with Daddy and Uncle Mark. That evening, Nana B and Grandaddy came over to keep me so Mommy and Daddy could go to a party. I love visiting with them and I was such a good boy while they were here!

Then on Sunday I went to visit my mommy's friends, Kris, Mike and Leslie. Leslie's grandson, Tannis, was also there. He was 15 months old, and was very nice by letting me share all of his toys. Today, I've been hanging out with Mommy and Aunt Christy. We went to Babies R Us to register for Christy's baby and then went to lunch. This week should be just as fun. Nana C and Papaw Glenn are coming down to keep me overnight while Mommy and Daddy go to SC to see the Wolfpack play football with Uncle Nealson, Aunt Kennette, Eric and Brandt. I'm going to miss them, but I'm looking forward to hanging out with Nana and Papaw.

Wet n' Wild

We went to the coolest place today -- it was a big water park called Wet n' Wild. We went with Kristin, Eric, Ashley, Zach, and Brandt. They had lots and lots of water for me to splash in. We also got to ride in a float around a lazy river. I played so hard that I fell asleep before we even got out of the parking lot on the way home. Mommy and Daddy got to go on some of the grown up water slides. I can't wait until I'm old enough to do that!

There are more pictures of me at the water park and some other pictures here.

A New Olympic Sport

I wish crawling and climbing on things were an Olympic sport. I bet I would win gold. We've been watching alot of the Olympics in our house, and Mommy has been tired in the mornings because she's been staying up late watching them. She says maybe one day I could win in the Olympics. I sure would like to put one of those medals in my mouth!

We've had a fun couple of weeks around here. Last Thursday, I went to Kindermusik with my Mommy. Aunt Christy was off from work so she went with us. I had the BEST time, so Mommy signed me up to take a class this fall. We danced and clapped and played drums and even got to wave a big parachute. On Saturday, I stayed home with Daddy while Mommy went to a baby shower. Daddy and I always have the best time together playing chase. He runs from me and I chase him. Sunday, Mommy and I were both feeling bad (I had a fever), so we just layed around the house while Daddy took care of us. We both still felt bad on Monday, so my Daddy worked from home that afternoon and kept an eye on me so Mommy could rest. On Wednesday, Mommy and I felt much better and we went to Cary to have lunch with our friends, Heather and Anna. I loved hanging out with Anna and guess what! Her birthday is the same day as mine.

Today, Mommy had a party so I had lots of people here when I woke up from my nap. I got to see my Nana and Grandaddy, Aunt Christy, Aunt Kennette and Hannah, Jane, Kristin and Ashley, and Jennifer. Whew. I played shy at first when I saw them, but I had a good time flirting with them all.

I hope everyone is having a good week. I love you all!

A Wii Orphan

Whew! Time flies when you're having fun. There has been so much happening here in the Deyo house. First, my Grandaddy has been in the hospital. He was sick and it took the doctors some time to figure out why. They think they've found the problem, and Grandaddy got to come home on Saturday after almost two weeks in the hospital. He has to go back to the hosptial tomorrow for surgery, but hopefully that will make him feel better in the long run. Please be thinking about my Nana and Grandaddy. They've had so much going on and they deserve a break!

We also got a Wii Fit in our house, thanks to Aunt Becky and Elizabeth who picked it up for us. Daddy wasn't happy at first because it told him he was "overweight", but I think he looks just fine. It's fun to watch Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Mark play it. It was also great to get to see The Johnstons and to finally get to meet Uncle Dan when they dropped it off on their way to Wilmington!

On Saturday, my mommy had to lead a workshop in Durham, so I stayed home with my daddy! We had a great time together. After Mom got home that afternoon, we all went over to Brent and Ashley's for a going away party for our friend, Richard. He's taking a job in Charleston, SC and is moving this week. There were so many kids there and I had a great time playing with everyone. After we left the party, we ran over to Nana and Grandaddy's house to say hey and give them kisses before we came home.

On Sunday, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Christy and I went to lunch and to the Farmer's Market to get some more fruits and vegetables for me. I had such a good time and Mommy even gave me a small bite of her peach sample. Yummy. That afternoon I was so excited I couldn't take a nap, so we all went over to Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson's house to go swimming. Holden can swim so well and Hannah was having fun hanging out in her float, but I loved it when my Uncle Nealson took me around in the water very fast. We had pizza and watermelon by the pool before we all came home.

Guess what else? I'm going to have a BOY cousin. My Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark found out yesterday they are going to have a little boy. I'm so excited I'll have someone to play with. Mommy got to go to the doctor with them and see the ultrasound. She said it made her so happy to see Aunt Christy's baby was so healthy and it reminded her of when I was in her tummy.

Before I go, I just want to tell Papaw Glenn I'm thinking of him as he finishes up his treatment. I'm also glad to hear my Mamaw Beulah will be coming home soon. That is great news! Finally, I want to say, "Hi!" and "I love you" to my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Hank in California. Nana says you read my blog and that makes me very happy. I hope you all enjoy this picture of me watching my favorite television show, "Mike and Mike in the Morning."

I love my family

Last Monday, Mommy and I went to Asheville. We stopped by to have lunch with Aunt Becky and Elizabeth and headed on to the mountains. We got to see Nana C, Papaw Glenn, Nanny Wilson, John and Tammy, Uncle Ricky and Cindy, Mamaw Helen, Aunt Brenda, Aunt Mary Ruth and Uncle Carol. We also went to the Rehab Center to see Mamaw Beulah. She was so busy that we only got to see her for about 30 minutes. While we were waiting, we got to see a cool Japanese drum club who came to peform for the residents. I had a great time and was glad that Mamaw was enjoying being around other people.
We ended up staying an extra day in Asheville because there were so many people to see, so I reallly missed my daddy! Friday Mommy and Daddy went out to eat with friends for Aunt Kennette's birthday. I stayed home with my cousins, Marsha, Jane and Trevor. I didn't want to go to bed and miss any fun with them, so I cried when they tried to put me to sleep. I had lots of fun and I hope they'll come back to keep me one day. On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy and I went to lunch at Neomonde and shopping at Trader Joes before going to see Nana B and Grandaddy. Grandaddy has been in and out of the hospital because of his low blood pressure, but he looked great and I was so happy to see him.
This week, Grandaddy is back in the hospital because his calcium is too high (whatever that is). Please say a prayer for him and for my Nana B. I hope his doctors can figure out what is causing him to have trouble. I'll update you soon.

My fun week

This week has been so much fun! On Tuesday, my daddy worked from home so he got to stay home with us. On Wednesday, we had some errands to run, so we packed a picnic lunch and ate with Daddy at his office. That afternoon, my Aunt Christy started feeling bad at work, so her doctor told her to come home and lay down for the rest of the day. I didn't like that she didn't feel good, but it sure was fun having her at our house for the rest of the afternoon (Mommy wouldn't let her go to her house by herself!!). On Thursday, we were supposed to go swimming with Aunt Kennette, Holden and Hannah, but it rained and we stayed home. Friday, we went to something called Little Gym. I got to meet lots of babies my age, and we all crawled around, listened to music, popped bubbles, played with balls and bells, and made LOTS of noise.

On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Wilmington to see Aunt Brandi graduate from college. She did so good and we were all proud of her (Mom's note: She made Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Summa Cum Laude while working and taking care of three kids). After graduation we went to lunch with Brandi's family and friends and then headed home. Today, Mommy has been packing our bags so we can leave tomorrow for the mountains. We are going to see Nana and Papaw and spend some time with Grandma Beulah at the rehab center. On our way, we're going to stop and see Aunt Becky and Elizabeth. I'm so excited, but I sure am going to miss Daddy! I'll post again when I get back.

Break on Through

Guess what? I am a big boy. I got my first tooth. It feels so weird, and I can't quit rubbing it with my tongue. It even peeks out when I smile. Mommy says she's sad that my toothless grin is gone, but she's excited that I'm growing up.

Last week, Mommy and I went shopping and on a picnic with Aunt Becky, Uncle Dan and Elizabeth. It was my first trip to Chapel Hill, which was a little yucky, but I had such a good time playing with Elizabeth. On Thursday, my Uncle Mark, Mommy, and I met Daddy for lunch at Cloos. I had green beans and prunes, but next time I hope I can use my new tooth on some french fries! Friday, I made a trip with Mommy to the Farmer's Market. We got a watermelon, but we haven't gotten to eat it yet. I'll post pictures when I can.

That's about it. We've been taking it easy since we got back from Hawaii. Now we are all getting readjusted, so maybe I'll have more next time.

People are Nice

I'm back from Hawaii!!! Even though it was such a long way away, I had a great time and met so many nice people. From the workers in the airports that helped us through security, to the sweet Grandma who sat beside us on one of our flights and took me on a walk up and down the aisle, there were so many people who made our trip easier. When I was on the island, I got to wade in the Pacific Ocean, swim in the pool, go to the mall with my mommy (a lot), see some really big sea turtles, go to eat at my daddy's friend Robert's house, and see lots of beautiful scenery ( I especially liked looking at the trees blowing in the breeze). When we left, it was hard for all of us to fly overnight to Phoenix and then fly again until we were back in Raleigh at 4:30 PM the next day. Mommy didn't sleep at all on the first flight and Daddy only slept a little, so there was a nice man (he had six grandkids!!!!) on our flight from Phoenix to Raleigh who held me when I fell asleep so that mom and dad could take a nap. As fun as it was to be on vacation, I sure am happy to be home.

Thursday, I got to see my grandaddy and Nana. I'm so thankful to the nice person that gave him his new kidney. I 'm very sad though that Grandaddy can't pick me up right now because of his surgery. Nana picks me up and lets me hug on him though. He is doing great and getting stronger every day. Please pray his kidney will continue to work more and more and that he won't have to go to dialysis much longer. Also pray for my Nana B. She is taking such good care of Grandaddy, and doing a great job keeping up with the mountains of medicine he now has to take.

I'd like to send some special love to my Mamaw Beulah. She is getting ready to move into a new place, and I promise I'll visit very soon. Marsha, Aunt Terry, Aunt Gail and Papaw George have had a hard week and I love them very much for taking care of Mamaw. Also, I'd like to say, "I love you" to my Papaw Glenn. He starts treatment for his cancer very soon. I know he's going to do great and I can't wait to play with him when he feels better.

My Grandaddy has a Kidney!

Grandaddy got his new kidney today. The surgery went well, and they say he peed on the operating room table. That means the kidney is already starting to work! I don't blame him -- I pee on everything I can (especially my mommy).

He is in surgical ICU now and will be there for a few days so they can watch him, then he'll move to a new room.

I am so happy for my grandaddy. The doctor said the kidney was such a good match, it was like his twin brother had donated it. Thank you to everyone that prayed for him and that sent their well wishes. Please keep praying that his recovery will go well.

Aloha!

Please Pray for my Grandaddy

Grandaddy Deyo and Nana B got some really good news today -- they found a kidney for him that's a perfect match! It's coming all the way from Michigan. He has to stay in the hospital tonight, and if everything is okay with the kidney, he'll have an operation on Wednesday to put it in. Please pray that the kidney will be a good match and that the surgery will go ok.

Also please pray for the family of the man that gave him the kidney. While we are celebrating, they are all very sad.

I'm very glad to be here in Hawaii, but I wish I could be with Grandaddy. I know Nana will take good care of him though.

New Toy

Daddy gave me a new toy this week. It's called a pot and a spoon. I love it -- it makes so much noise! I put a video of me playing with it below.

Tomorrow I have to get up really, really early to get on a plane for Hawaii. I'm so excited!

Good News!!!

I'm going to have a new cousin! That's right, my Aunt Christy is going to have a baby. Mommy, Daddy and I have known for several weeks now, but Christy went to the doctor today and everything is fine so we can tell all of you. Mommy keeps teasing her about having two babies, but the doctor said there was only one baby in her belly. Here's is the first picture of my new cousin (or cousins-he he) due on January 12th! Yeah!!

Evan's travels

Last week I got to go with Mommy to her old office to see everybody. Everyone was so happy to see us, and Mommy was happy to see them. She says she misses the people, but she has never loved her job more than she does right now! On Wednesday, Mommy took me to meet her girlfriends for dinner. They loved on me and kissed on me for a few minutes before Daddy picked me up and took me home so Mommy could have fun with her friends.

On Friday, Mommy and I left early in the morning and went to Mooresville to Grandpa George and Grandma Jean's house. We had never seen their new place and it was beautiful! Uncle Nathan and Uncle Jason were also there and I loved playing with them. That night, Daddy, Uncle Mark and Aunt Christy got there. We only got to stay until Saturday afternoon because Mommy, Daddy, Christy and Mark had to meet friends to go to a concert in Raleigh. I got to stay with my Nana B and Granddaddy while they were out. That night we stayed in Cary and Granddaddy fixed pancakes in the morning. Mommy sure did like them. She ate FOUR!!!

This week I'm going to see Dr. Nechyba for my 6 month check up. Mommy and I are also going to Winston Salem to see Aunt Becky and Elizabeth. On Friday, we're going to Nana B and Grandaddy's to stay with Scott Alan while they go to the doctor. Next week I'm going on a big trip. Mommy, Daddy and I are going to Hawaii for eight days! I get to go on an airplane, and I'm very excited. I'll make sure I post pictures when we get back.

Busy, busy, busy

I can't tell you how busy I've been lately. Last Friday, Mom, Aunt Christy and I went back to the mountains to hang out with all of the Cable girls. My cousins, Jane and Carol, met us at our house and followed us up to Mamaw Buddha's house. Amy came in from Kentucky and Marsha met us there after work. I had a great time laughing with all of the girls. They were crazy and sure did drink some margyouritas (at least that's how my Aunt Terry says it). On Sunday Mom and I went to Nana and Papaw's house for the week since dad was leaving for Boise on Monday. Mamaw Helen and Nanny Wilson came over for lunch on Monday and we got to eat in Nana and Papaw's new patio room.

On Tuesday, Mommy and I went to lunch with Mamaw Beulah and took her to her doctor's appointment. I missed my nap and got pretty fussy while we were waiting, but I loved being with my Mamaw. On Wednesday, I went to Nana C's work and had lunch with her in Hendersonville. That night, I was very sad to learn that Mamaw Beulah had a little stroke and had to go to the hospital. She was okay, though, and the doctor let her come home that night. On Thursday, Nana and Papaw were off from work and we went out to lunch and shopping afterwards. We left Asheville on Friday, but not before we went back to visit Mamaw Beulah and check on her. We were so happy and surprised that Gail and Marsha were there, too.

We stopped by to visit Aunt Becky and Elizabeth on the way home and I accidently spilled my mommy's pizza on her floor. Aunt Becky said Webster would eat it, and mommy says a little sauce is better than what Cooper left on Aunt Becky's floor once.
That night my daddy came home!!!! I hadn't seen him in a week. He missed me bunches. On Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market to get some fruits and vegetables so mommy could make me some baby food. I ate my peaches tonight and they were yummy!!!

I want to say hello to my cousin, Marsha, who reads my blog every week. Thank you for checking on Mamaw last week and for calling the doctor when she needed to go to the hospital. Also, I want to say "I love you" to my Papaw Glenn. I'm very sorry you're having a bad day. I can't wait to see you again and play with you.

I'll post again next week. I get to see my Uncle Nathan and Uncle Jason this weekend, so I'll have lots to write about.

The Mountains

This past weekend I went to the mountains and stayed with my Nana and Papaw. I had such a good time visiting with them and playing with them. I also got to see my great aunt Brenda and Mamaw Helen, my great grandmother. On Sunday, we all went to church and I stayed in the nursery with Nana. There were lots of kids to play with in there. I had fun playing with them.
This coming weekend I'm going back to the mountains with my mommy and Aunt Christy. We're going to Mamaw Buddha's house with all of Mommy's girl cousins. I'm the only boy that's allowed to go! After the weekend, Mommy and I are going to stay at Nana C's house because my daddy is going to be in some place called Boise all week. I sure am going to miss him. :(

My Mommy

Sunday was Mother's Day. It's a special day set aside for me to tell my mommy how much I love her and how special she is. I gave her a card, a picture of her and daddy and me, and something called a "Dutch oven". It weighs more than I do! I also got to play with Daddy a lot because Mommy slept all morning. I'd rather play, but she seemed to like it. That afternoon we went to my Nana B's house and visited with her, Grandaddy, Uncle Scott, Aunt Brandi, and all of my cousins. I had a lot of fun playing with everybody!

Earlier in the week, Nana C and her friend Colleen came to see me. It was my daddy's birthday, and we all ate dinner together. Aunt Christy made some really good chocolate mousse for Daddy, but nobody would let me try any. :(

Wednesday night we went to Nana and Grandaddy's house to celebrate Daddy's birthday. They made Beef Wellington for him, but no one would let me have any of that either. Daddy did let me help him open his presents. I was really good at that!

Thursday night I went back to Nana and Grandaddy's house to stay with them while Mommy and Daddy went out to eat. They found a new restaurant called The Pit that they really liked. I played with Nana a lot because Grandaddy had to teach a class.

Saturday we went to my friend Holden's first t-ball game. It was very exciting. I can't wait until I'm old enough to play! After that there was a birthday party for his sister Hannah. I had a lot of fun playing with everybody.

So far this week hasn't been as busy, and I'm glad. I needed a break after all of that!

I'm so big

I've been very busy since my last post. On Wednesday, Mommy and I went to her doctor's appointment and found out she still has stones in her kidneys, which she was bummed about. Her nice doctor, Dr. Leet, said he's going to give her another two months before he'll think about more surgery. Afterwards we went to get her allergy shots and to meet daddy for lunch.

We went to the park on Thursday and I was very tired. I took a two hour nap and Mommy took one, too. On Friday my daddy stayed with us to work from home because my mommy had another kidney stone. Saturday was my favorite day because my mommy, daddy, Aunt Christy, Uncle Mark and I went to Krispy Kreme donuts in the morning and went to NC State's campus to walk around afterwards. That's where they all went to school and where the Wolfpack play. Mommy and Daddy had so much fun telling me where they used to meet after class and showing me places that were important to them. We even went to the bookstore and I got a few new Wolfpack shirts for football!
Today Mommy, Aunt Christy and I went shopping for my daddy's birthday. It is tomorrow! My Nana C and her friend, Colleen, will also be in town and are coming over for dinner. I can't wait to see them and to give Daddy his present. I hope he likes it. Last thing before I go, I can sit up by myself now. I still need Mommy and Daddy close by, but I can sit alone for a couple of seconds before falling over. Yeah! I'm trying my best to crawl, but it is very hard. I'll let you know as soon as I get it.

Hanging out with Daddy

This weekend was fun for me. On Friday night, my Nana B, Granddaddy, and Uncle Mark came over for dinner for their birthdays. My Aunt Christy came too and helped my mommy cook (I think she did more than Mommy, but I'm not going to tell HER that). On Saturday Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Christy, and Uncle Mark took me to my friend Sydney's birthday party. She turned 6 years old! I had fun meeting all of her family, especially Olivia who is 3 months older than me. She was very pretty and was even trying to walk. Wow!

On Sunday, I got to hang out with my daddy all day because my mommy and Aunt Christy had to go to a funeral in Elizabeth City. I had so much fun playing and going on a walk with Daddy, but even though she got to see her friends from graduate school, Mommy didn't have fun. She was very sad and hugged and kissed me alot when she got home. She also kept telling me she was very lucky to have me as her baby.

This is a picture of me in an outfit my Aunt Christy gave me. I love it!

Silly Noises Contest

Daddy and I had a silly noises contest. He lost.

(Dad's note: This went on for over 5 minutes, but we only recorded the last couple of minutes)

On the Road Again

Whew! We just got back from a four day trip to Georgia and boy did we have fun. We left on Saturday morning and Mommy and Daddy say I was a good boy in the car. On Sunday, I got to cook with my grandmama and Mommy, Daddy and I went to church with her. I had a great time listening to the singing and to the preacher and I didn't even get fussy until it was almost time to go home. Later that day, we all watched the Masters on TV and my Aunt Dede and Uncle AW came over for a visit. I loved meeting them.

On Monday evening we went to Sylvania and I got to meet lots more of my family. I saw Aunt Dede and Uncle AW again and had a great time looking at all of their cats! They sure were funny. Then I got to see my cousin, Darlette (Da Da) and her husband, Anthony (Nat Nat). My cousin, Lauryn, also came over with her fiance', Rocky. We had a great time visiting them and I got to see my first ever cows. The rest of the night I was a little fussy, but Nat Nat carried me around and let me look at everything so Mommy and Daddy could talk. They are very excited about Lauryn and Rocky's wedding scheduled for October! I didn't get to see my cousin, Danielle, and her family becuase they were all busy. It made us all sad, but maybe we can see them again soon. I also didn't get to meet Molly Evan (isn't that funny, she has the same name as me) because she is in college, but I did get to see some pictures of her in a pretty red dress. She looked beautiful.
We are home now and I'm looking forward to my Nana C and Papaw Glenn's visit this weekend. They are coming to stay with me so Mommy and Daddy can go to a fundraiser on Saturday night. I went shopping with Mommy today and helped her pick out a pretty dress to wear, so I hope they have fun.

Before I go, I have to say Get Well to my Mamaw Beulah. She's been in the hospital this week and I sure hope she gets better very soon. Also, my Aunt Gail had surgery on Tuesday and I hope she has a speedy recovery.

A crazy couple of weeks

Since I last posted it seems like so much has happened in our house. My mommy had her surgery and was very funny on Monday when she came home. She'd be talking and all of a sudden she'd fall asleep. I loved staying with my Nana and my daddy during the day while Mommy slept.

Right after my Mommy started feeling better, the cold I had got worse and moved into my chest so I had to go back to the pediatrician. Luckily, I didn't have bronchitis or an ear infection, and I'm feeling much better these days. My mommy caught my cold and got bronchitis, but she started taking medicine and now she is feeling better, too.

We've also been staying at my Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark's since Sunday because we are having our kitchen floors refinished. Last night was our first night back in our house and as much as I was happy to be in my crib, I missed hanging out with Christy and Mark.

Yesterday I went to see Dr. Nechyba for my 4 month check-up. Can you believe it? I am four months old!! He said I was very healthy, but I had to have more shots. I hate shots! I was pretty sore last night, but I'm doing better today. Today we went to have lunch with some people my daddy used to work with. I had fun laughing with and meeting all of his friends.

This weekend we are off to Georgia to see some family down there. I am very excited about our trip and will post again when we get back.

Mommy and me

We had a not-so-fun week in our house this week! On Monday night, my mommy and I went to eat with Uncle Mark and Aunt Christy, but then later mommy's stomach started hurting. By the next morning her back was also hurting and she asked my daddy not to go to work because she thought she needed to go to the doctor. My sweet Aunt Kennette (and Holden and Hannah) came to stay with me so daddy could take her and guess what...she had stones in her kidney. She told me she'd had them two times before I was born, but this time they were in both kidneys and were really big. She has to have surgery on Monday to break them up and that makes me sad!

Know what else makes me sad? Being sick makes me sad and I was sick this week. On Friday Mommy got me up from my morning nap and I was running a fever of 101.8. I was also fussy and fitful, so she took me to see Dr. Nechyba who tested me for the flu and RSV. Both were negative and my ears were clear, so he said he thought it was a virus. I felt very bad all day and night on Friday and most of the day today, but tonight I'm feeling better. My Nana C came to visit this weekend so she could keep me while Mommy and Daddy are at the hospital on Monday. Hopefully next week will be better for us.

A good weekend

I had a great weekend. I got to hang out with my Mamaw and Papaw who brought me a cool stuffed Horton and a quilted bib with my name on it. I also got to watch basketball with my family. Lots of basketball. There have been some very good games and some of them were even played on the Wolfpack's floor! Mommy says at least something with the NC State logo made it into the tournament.

This morning the funniest thing happened...the Easter Bunny came to see me. Imagine that, a rabbit in our house! He left me a basket with books, new shoes and a toy photo alblum in it. Mommy and Daddy says the Easter Bunny likes to bring candy to kids, but I'm still too little. I hope everyone had a good Easter. Love you all!

Dogs Are Funny

I live with two doggies named Bailey and Cooper. They make me laugh and laugh. I really love it when Bailey chases his tail.

This week, I've decided I have a lot to tell everyone, so I've been talking a lot. I don't think the grown ups understand what I'm saying, but I'm sure they'll learn.

I've also taught my mom and dad to stick out their tongue. Every time I stick my tongue out, they laugh and do it back to me.

This is a good week for seeing grandparents. My Nana C was here last weekend, I went to Nana B and Granddaddy's house on Tuesday, and this weekend Papaw George and Mamaw Jean are coming over. I sure do miss my Papaw Glenn though. I can't wait to see him again. He calls me on the phone and I smile really big at him, but I don't think he can see it.

My first ACC Tournament and more

This weekend I got to watch my first ever ACC tournament. My daddy took Thursday and Friday off from work and stayed home with Mommy and me to watch basketball. The silly old Wolfpack lost their first game, but Mommy and Daddy were happy this miserable season was finally over. On Friday Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Hannah, Holden, Eric, Kristin, Zachary and Ashley came over to watch the games and eat with us. Daddy smoked some ribs and everyone brought something else to eat. It was very fun.

Nana C also came for a visit this weekend. Saturday night we got to pick up Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark from the airport. It was my first visit inside a real live airport. Christy was so happy when she saw me, I thought she was going to cry. I was happy to see her too and she promises never to leave me for 17 days ever again.

Yesterday we went to lunch at the Twisted Fork before Nana left to go home. I didn't sleep very well last night because I got my mommy's cold. Mommy said she coughed most of the night and I coughed most of the day today. Mommy feels better tonight, so hopefully I'll be better soon. I hope I'm better by the weekend. Papaw George and Mamaw Jean are coming for a visit. Yeah! But first, I'll get to see Nana B and Granddaddy when we go to their house tomorrow night for dinner for my mommy's birthday.

I sure hope this post makes my Aunt Becky happy!!!

I Miss My Aunt Christy

Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark have been gone for more than a week now, and I sure do miss them. I can't wait until this Saturday when they come back from Italy. My Nana C is coming to visit this weekend too, and we're all going to the airport together to get them. I'm so excited!

This week I learned to grab my toys and put them in my mouth, and I've been trying so hard to sit up, but I can't quite get it. I also got to visit a lot of people. On Tuesday I ate lunch with my Aunt Kennette and Holden and Hannah. Then on Wednesday I ate lunch and went shopping with my daddy. Friday we ate dinner with Aunt Kennette, Uncle Nealson, Holden, and Hannah (what a treat to see them twice in one week!) and then saw Nana and Grandaddy at their house later that night. Sunday we rode to Wilmington to see Uncle Scott and Aunt Brandi and my cousins at their new house for Scott Alan's birthday.

Speaking of birthdays, my mommy's birthday is tomorrow. She said she's going to be 29 again. I didn't think birthday's worked like that, but I guess she knows better than me. Daddy got her a Wii for her birthday, and we love to play with that. It makes Mommy and Daddy move around a lot and it puts lots of pretty colors on the TV. Mommy is sad that she doesn't get to spend her birthday with Aunt Christy though. I'll have to try to cheer her up instead.

Game Day

I've had one great week! As if putting myself to sleep every night this week wasn't exciting enough, on Wednesday Aunt Becky and Elizabeth came over to play with me. I had so much fun but I kept Elizabeth awake during her nap time. After a couple of hours at home, we went to the mall for lunch. Elizabeth didn't like her mommy holding me, but I was very happy in her arms. That night I went to my first ever Wolfpack game. I was a good boy and didn't get fussy until about 5 minutes left. The Wolfpack lost, but I thought it was neat to be at a game.

On Thursday, I went with mommy to take Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark to the airport. They are going to have such fun in Italy, but I'm going to miss them. As Uncle Mark closed the car door he told my mommy to take care of his house and take care of his baby...that's me!!! I guess they're going to miss me, too. Just in case they do, I got my Aunt Christy a keychain digital picture frame with 58 pictures of me on it for her birthday. That way, she can look at me anytime while she's away.

Yesterday we went to get Mommy's allergy shots and took daddy to pick up some lunch since he had a noon conference call. Last night I went with Mommy and Daddy to visit their good friends, the Brandows. Mr. Brent and Mrs. Ashley have a 2 year old, Bryce, and they have a one week old named Chase. It was strange to see how small Chase was and to know not too long ago I was that little. Mommy and Daddy sure had a good time talking to adults and I had a good time hanging out with the kids.

Today is game day again and I am going to the game with only my daddy. Mommy has to go get her hair cut. I'm very excited about going to another game and Daddy says I'll get to see Coach K get his 800th win. Here's a picture of me and my daddy getting ready to go. I hope you all have a good weekend!

New Tricks

Guess what? I can do two new tricks. One is that I can roll over from my back to my tummy. Mommy and daddy are proud of me, but it seems to scare them when I do it in my sleep. Especially because I can't roll back over yet so I end up face down in my crib. Don't worry though, I usually wake them up to come turn me over when I start crying. Also, my baby monitor has a sensor on it that will sound an alarm if I stop breathing, so that helps mommy and daddy sleep a little better at night.

Speaking of sleep...the other thing I can do is sleep for a long time. I slept for nine hours straight on Saturday and for eight hours last night before going back to bed for four more! Mommy and daddy are so happy and tell me I'm a big boy!

I had a great day today and our family enjoyed dinner with Uncle Mark and Aunt Christy as we do every Monday night. I had a great time rolling in the floor with Uncle Mark. They leave for Italy on Thursday and Mommy and I are taking them to the airport. I will probably cry all the way home because I'm going to miss them so much.

Tonight is a big night for us. Mommy and daddy are putting me to bed awake and letting me put myself to sleep. We started a new night routine that includes changing into my pajamas, mommy feeding me, mommy reading books to me and then getting in my crib to watch the new Rainforest soothing crib show my friend, Craig, got me today. I'll let you know how it goes.

Road Trip

On Friday, my mommy, Aunt Christy and I took a road trip to Asheville to see Nana and Papaw. We left Raleigh around 4:30 and I was such a good boy all the way to the mountains. I slept for about an hour and a half, and enjoyed looking out the window at all the sights as Mommy drove. I wished Daddy could have been there, but he was leaving for Germany on Saturday and couldn't go with us. Uncle Mark left straight from work, but he met us at Nana's house.
On Saturday, I went to meet my Mamaw Beulah for the first time. I loved seeing her and knowing how special she is to my mommy. I also got to meet my Aunt Terry and my Aunt Gail and one of my cousins, Mattison. I'm going to go back and see Mamaw Beulah before I leave to go home.

On Sunday, I went to church for the first time ever. I stayed in the nursery with my Nana while Mommy and Aunt Christy went to the service. Everyone was very excited about me and the preacher even asked my mommy where I was in front of the whole church. He announced that I had made my first trip to the mountains. I got to meet lots of people, including my cousin, Amy Carol, and her kids, Alex and Kristin Elizabeth. My cousin, Brian, was sick so he didn't make it. I sure hope he feels better soon. It was also very special to get to meet my Nana's bestest friends and I can't wait to see them again.

That day for lunch, Nanny Wilson, Uncle John, Aunt Tammy, and Mamaw Helen came over. I had never met Mamaw Helen and she loved playing with me. I also got to meet my Aunt Brenda, Uncle Roger, Aunt Sharon and cousins, Caleb, Sean and Jenna. My Uncle John left early to go to Georgia to begin school. I miss him already.

Today, Mommy, Nana and I went to lunch and went shopping. Tomorrow we are headed to Hendersonville to meet the people my Nana works with. I'm having fun, but I sure can't wait until Daddy gets home. Talking to him on the phone just isn't the same.

I hate shots

This weekend was once again very busy. On Saturday morning, my mommy, daddy, Uncle Mark and I went for breakfast at Panera Bread. I had a great time and was very happy about being out of the house. My daddy and Uncle Mark said they wanted to take me a couple of doors down to Best Buy to balance me out since I spend all day doing girl stuff with Mommy. Later on my friends, Eric and Kristin, came over to visit and ended up staying for dinner and to watch basketball. My friend, Jennifer, also came by for an hour or so. I loved seeing her and I'm real sorry about filling up my diaper while I was lying in her lap. The Wolfpack lost, but it was still a great day.

On Sunday, I went to Target with Mommy and Daddy and then I went to Neomonde Deli with them and my Aunt Christy. Mommy said I was great in both places and she's so happy I'm starting to like getting out more. After lunch, I went to Kohls with Mom and Christy. Mommy bought Daddy a shirt for his trip to Berlin on Saturday. I sure am going to miss him.

Today started out great. I slept for seven hours straight again and ten throughout the night. I was in a good mood and took a good nap in the morning. Then things went down hill when I went to see Dr. Nechyba for my 2 month check-up. I was very healthy and weighed 11 pounds 8 1/2 ounces. I was 24 1/2 inches long which makes me three inches taller than I was when I was born. BUT then they gave me some shots that really hurt. I cried and I thought Mommy was going to cry, too. I wanted to be close to my mommy the rest of the afternoon so I slept beside her on the couch when we got home. Tonight we went for our regular Monday night dinner at Uncle Mark and Aunt Christy's house. They are getting excited about going to Italy, but they keep saying they are going to pack me in their suitcase. I'm not sure I'd like that too much, but I am going to miss them.

My First Play Date

Since my last post I have been going, going, going. On Monday afternoon, my mommy met my Aunt Christy at the park and we went for a long walk. Too bad it started to rain so it couldn't be longer. My Aunt Christy is a fast runner and she got me to the car so fast I barely felt any rain drops. Then we went to her house for dinner while my daddy went to play basketball. He loves to play with his friends and it makes him feel good to get some exercise.

On Tuesday, we went back to WakeMed to see Christy at work. Her friend, Betsy, had a magic touch and put me to sleep just before I left. Mommy was afraid I wouldn't sleep again once I got home, but I did take a short nap. That night, Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark came over to watch the basketball game and kept me so Mommy and Daddy could go. The first picture is of me getting ready for the game. The Wolfpack won, but it didn't make me happy. I was fussy when mom and dad got home and didn't go to sleep until after 10. BUT then I slept until 5 AM without waking up. Mommy and Daddy said seven hours of sleep never felt so good.

On Wednesday we went to get Mommy's shots and I was much better behaved this time. All of the nurses stopped to say hi to me and played with me for a couple of minutes. Afterwards, we stopped by Daddy's office to give him kisses and then went home. I took a good long nap and mommy was going to take me shopping, but I started crying and she decided we would stay home.

Today I had my first play date. Mommy took me to see her friend, Melissa. She has two boys, Lane and Keegan. They were lots of fun and I can't wait until I'm big enough to play with trains like them. The next picture is of Lane holding me with Keegan looking on. I hope to get to see them again soon.

Last thing, I want to say a special hello to my cousin, Savannah, in Georgia. I can't wait until I get to make the trip to meet all of my family who lives there. Love you all!

What a weekend

This weekend was very busy for this baby. On Saturday my mommy had a girls luncheon to go to, so I stayed home with my daddy. When Mommy got home, we went for a family walk with Bailey and Cooper and I had a great time. That night my Nana B and Granddaddy came over for dinner. I was so happy to see them. I was very tired and fussy, but my Nana put me to sleep in my crib around 8:30 and I slept for almost six and a half hours. Mommy says she was worried and got up to check on me but I was just a tired boy. After she fed me, I went back to sleep for four more hours.

My Aunt Christy spent the night on Saturday and when I woke up Sunday morning I got in bed with her for a few minutes and fell back asleep for awhile. Then my mommy and daddy went to the NCSU vs. Wake Forest game and I stayed home with my Aunt Christy. Uncle Mark had a sore throat, so I didn't get to see him during the day. The Wolfpack won an exciting game and made me very happy.

Last night, I watched my first ever Super Bowl. Mommy and Daddy don't like the Patriots and they don't like Eli Manning, so they weren't too excited about the game. Daddy says the Giants won the game, and even though Eli got MVP, he beat the Patriots for the first time all season. That's pretty cool.

In other news, my Aunt Becky and Uncle Dan bought a house! I am so excited and can't wait to go visit Elizabeth when she moves in. Aunt Becky's stepmom, Mary, is very sick and we have all been thinking about her. Also, my friend, Hannah, has the flu and pneumonia and I hope she gets better very soon.

My first cold

This weekend was good and bad for me. The good part was my Nana C and Papaw Glenn came to visit. The bad part was I had my first cold. I slept most of the weekend and cried when I wasn't asleep. My nose was stuffy on Saturday night, so my Nana held me in the glider and let me sleep on her shoulder. I loved snuggling with her.

Saturday night I got to stay home with my Nana, Papaw, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Christy while my mommy and daddy went on something they call a "date." Mommy says it will be a long, long, long time before I know anything about them. They went shopping and to dinner and had a great time together. They both said they missed me a bunch.

Monday I went back to the pediatrician to make sure I didn't have an ear infection and I didn't. Dr. Foor was very nice and I liked seeing him. Afterwards, Mommy and I swung by Daddy's office and gave him kisses before heading home. Mommy went out to an Arts Festival on Monday night so I stayed with my Aunt Chirsty until my daddy got home and then it was just the boys for a couple of hours. We had lots of fun.

On Tuesday, Mommy took me to her Wake Forest office and I got to meet all of the nice ladies there. They hugged me and kissed me and sang to me. I loved it. Then last night, Mommy took me to a place called "On the Border" to meet my Aunt Christy and Cousin Jane for drinks and chips. I had a great time flirting with all of the waitresses. The bartender wanted to see my ID and everyone laughed. My cousin, Jane, put me to sleep right away by rubbing my back. She's a great snuggler.

Today's going to be busy as well. We're meeting my daddy for lunch! I can't wait to see him because I miss him so much during the day. I'll post again soon. Love you all.

Busy Week

It's been a busy week at my house. On Monday, we went to see the first person I ever met -- Dr. Campbell. He had to make sure my mommy was healthy after giving birth to me and she was. He said her blood count was 12.6 and normal is 13. I don't know what any of that means, but Mommy and Daddy were very happy about it so I guess it's good. That night, my daddy left to go play basketball and he was very excited. He had a lot of fun there. Mommy and I went to my Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark's house. I missed Daddy, but I'm glad he had a good time.

Tuesday we went to my mommy's old office and met all of her friends there. They were very excited to see me, but they gave me a hard time for wearing baby blue. I think they thought it was Carolina blue. Those Tar Heels sure were silly to pick a baby color for their school!

Wednesday my mommy took me to a place called the allergy clinic so she could get some shots. I did not like that place and I made sure everybody knew it. I did get to meet the granddaddy of one of my friends from the nursery at Rex Hospital while I was there. She and I were born on the same day. Mommy thought that was really neat. We wanted to go visit Daddy too, but he was on something called a conference call and we couldn't see him. Those must be fun because he gets on them all the time. I can't wait until I can get on one!

My Nana and Papaw are coming to see to me tomorrow. I can't wait! They are so excited to see me they took the day off so they could come in the morning. We're going to have a good time. I'll be sure to tell you all about it.

6 weeks old

Today I am 6 weeks old. I have had a busy weekend. On Friday night, as promised, my Aunt Kennette and Uncle Nealson came over with Holden and Hannah. I've posted a picture of my friend, Holden, holding me on the couch. He was very excited about getting to hold me. We also had pizza and watched some of the hockey game.

On Saturday, mommy bought a new stand for our TV. Daddy and Uncle Mark spent the afternoon rearranging the furniture and I hung out with my mommy and Aunt Christy. We were supposed to get several inches of snow, but it only snowed enough to cover the deck and grass. I would have been bummed, but my Aunt Christy spent the night and it made up for it.
I wasn't really sleepy last night and stayed up until after 11 watching the Wolfpack win a great game against the Miami Hurricanes. I only slept for 45 minutes and was up again until after 12:30. BUT since I had kept mommy and daddy up, I decided I would surprise them and sleep for over 5 hours before waking them up again!! They were very happy.

Today, I've hung out with my Aunt Christy and watched football. We were sad the Chargers lost, but they played a good game. Next weekend should be just as fun when my Nanna C and Papaw Glenn come to visit.

So sorry

I haven't posted in awhile. I have had one busy week! On Tuesday Aunt Kennette, Holden and Hannah came to stay for the day. Aunt Kennette brought me Hannah's old swing and I love it (as long as I go maximum speed)! I even took a nap in it while she was here and mommy slept upstairs. She takes good care of me and my mommy. Tuesday night we watched the dumb ole' Wolfpack lose AGAIN. Mommy and Daddy says that being a fan means we cheer for a team even when they are terrible, but it's really hard to watch (and to listen to my parents yell at the TV).

On Wednesday, I went to WakeMed and had lunch with my Aunt Christy. Mommy was worried about all the germs in the hospital, so we had a picnic lunch in her office. I got to meet all the nice people who work with her and take care of you if something bad happens to you. All of them seemed to know me so I think my Aunt Christy has been bragging about me at work!

I didn't eat or sleep well on Tuesday and Wednesday, so mommy took me back to the pediatrician yesterday for a weight check and to talk about my reflux. I've been taking some yucky tasting Zantac for almost three weeks now, but my parents think it is getting worse instead of better. I had gained 12 ounces in 8 days, so the reflux hasn't affected how much I eat. But I have been spitting up and gagging more than I used to and eating less than I used to, so my doctor switched me to Prevacid. Mommy just keeps saying she is sorry for giving me the "Cable tummy."

Tonight my Uncle Nealson is coming over and I can't wait to see him (Aunt Kennette, Holden and Hannah are coming too)!! I haven't seen him since I first came home from the hospital. He's very excited because there is a chance we might get to see some snow tomorrow. I'm excited about that too. I promise to post again soon.

My Weekend

Weekends are my favorite! I love hanging out with my daddy during the day. On Saturday, daddy wasn't very happy because the Wolfpack played really bad and lost big to the Tarheels. We also went for a walk in the neighborhood and I got to meet my neighbor, Suzanne. She was really nice and said she missed her grandkids who live in California. She also promised her dog, Magnum, could come play with Bailey and Cooper. That will be fun!

We got some new things for the house this weekend. Mommy says the garage door opener broke and was the garage door stay shut, so we had to get a new one. We also got a new television. It is big and has lots of cool colors on it. We got to watch Philip Rivers beat up on the Colts on the new TV and everyone was very happy.

It was a lazy Sunday and I slept alot, so I didn't sleep much last night. Mommy is determined I'm going to stay up today. She took me on my first trip to Target to pick up my medicine and then to Blockbuster to return a movie for my Aunt Christy. Then we surprised daddy by dropping by the dentist where he was getting his teeth cleaned. I got to meet Mrs. Kim and Dr. Manness. Maybe one day I'll have teeth and they can clean them just like they do for my mommy and daddy.

Tomorrow is a big day for me. Hannah and Holden are coming over to play. I'm very excited about seeing them and spending time with my Aunt Kennette. I haven't seen her in several weeks. I'll make sure to post pictures.

Happy Birthday to me

I am one month old today!! To celebrate, I went to see Dr. Nechyba. He told me I am getting to be a big boy. I weigh 9 pounds and 7 ounces. He also told mommy to give me more of that yucky tasting Zantac to make me feel better because the low dose isn't cutting it. I really like my pediatrician. After he finished checking me over and had me crying real good, he picked me up and held me close to him until I calmed down. Mommy liked that, too. He said I am very healthy and I'll see him again in a month when I have to get my first round of shots. Mommy and I aren't looking forward to that visit!

My daddy has been in Rhode Island all day today and I miss him so much. I can't wait to see him when he comes home tonight. My Aunt Christy and Uncle Mark spent the evening with me and brought mommy some dinner. I love them. To pay my Aunt Christy back for her niceness, I peed on her when she helped mommy give me a bath. I'm sorry about that.

Another exhausting day

Yesterday was so tiring. After I ate lunch, my mommy took me to daddy's office to drop off some things he had forgotten at home (he's sleep deprived, you know). I visited with the nice people in his office for about 20 minutes before I had enough. It really wasn't that I didn't like his co-workers, but that it was so hot in there I was sweating in my carseat. As soon as I got outside again, I calmed down until mommy put me in the car to go home. She says to tell you I screamed all the way home, but you believe what you want.

When we got home, I ate and my Aunt Christy came over. She put me in my stroller and we went for a walk in the neighborhood since it was 70 degrees outside. Mommy, Bailey and Cooper went with us. I LOVED being outside and was wide awake the whole time. I was a perfect angel. Mommy and Aunt Christy wish they could say the same for Bailey and Cooper.

The last thing I did last night was to watch part of the football game between the Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers. Mommy wore her OSU shirt and I even called my uncles, Nathan and Jason, to wish them good luck before the game. Daddy told me when I woke up at 3 AM that they had lost. Pout.

Tonight mommy has a meeting and I'm going to be home with daddy. Then tomorrow, daddy leaves to go out of town and it's just me and my mommy. We have a big day planned...bagels with Aunt Kennette and Hannah and a visit to Dr. Nechyba. I hope he's proud of how big I'm getting.

My Grand Day Out

Today I took my first trip into the real world (other than to go to see my favorite pediatrician, Dr. Nechyba). Mommy and daddy took me to BJs. We got some toilet paper, which mommy says I'll learn about one day, some laundry detergent to wash all of my clothes, and some other stuff grown ups need. I did great, but when we got to the health and beauty part of the store, I had had about all the shopping fun I could stand and started to cry. Perhaps my Nana Carolyn heard me all the way in Asheville? All in all, it was a fun day.

Tonight my mommy is having sushi for the first time since before I was in her tummy and she is very happy. We are also watching Philip Rivers in the play-offs. It has been a big day and mommy and daddy say they hope I sleep well tonight. Tomorrow will be just as big. We have to wear our red and gray for the Buckeyes! Talk to you all soon.

Game Day

Today my favorite team plays basketball against Presbyterian and I'm all decked out in my NCSU gear to cheer them on. I got a good night's sleep last night and my friends Volpe and Nicolle are coming over so we should have lots of fun. I was so excited I even put myself to sleep for my nap...a trend my mommy and daddy hope I will continue.

Tomorrow is my four week birthday and I'm getting bigger every day. Here's a new picture for those out of towners.

My Bellybutton!

Today was a big day -- I saw my belly button for the first time ever. That's right -- my umbilical cord fell off today. I'm excited -- no more of those cold cotton swabs rubbing down there.

It was a big day for my mommy today too -- this was our first day alone together. Daddy had to go back to work, so Mommy took care of me all by herself. I made sure to be an extra good boy for her, and to save up all my fussiness for when Daddy came home. :)

I also got to see snow for the first time ever. It looked like fun, but Mommy said it's even more fun when it starts to stick -- whatever that means.

I got to go outside for my first walk yesterday, but it was way too cold today, so we spent the whole day inside. I hope my mommy gets to go outside soon before she goes stir crazy!
